I can't believe no one's commented on these. It may just be my browser messing with the colors but that yellow looks better. In the end I think these have a better, more natural rhythm than your original "striped illustrations".
No browser manipulation Brian, the yellow is new haha. I guess we'll get the verdict when you look at the end product.
