Heaven and Hell

I'm very pleased to post the results of my most recent project. Under instructor Jeremy Shellhorn, I was presented the problem of redesigning Heaven and Hell, a "compendium of myth, legend, wisdom, and wit for saints and sinners." My strategy involved altering the book's format from that of a small, quick, "toilet reader," to a visually stunning and functionally readable textbook, capable of successfully juxtaposing its compelling content with bold typography and classic imagery.

The final prototype is a hand-crafted and self-bound hardcover, 21.5 x 13 inches (in spread format). Be sure to click the thumbnails for larger images. Enjoy!
